The renewed splendour of the past.
The silk manufacturer Eschke® and the Cammann Gobelin Manufaktur®, two traditional Saxon companies that specialize in the reconstruction of historical textiles, are presenting the Saxon company. The aim of her work is to reproduce fabrics for castles, museums and historic buildings as faithfully as possible.
One focus of the article is the restoration of textiles for Waldenburg Castle. The experts work like detectives: From small scraps of fabric, old photos and archive documents, they reconstruct colors, patterns and weaving techniques of past centuries. Subsequently, the fabrics are manufactured on modern weaving machines according to the historical model.
The website also emphasizes the cultural significance of this work. The restoration of historic spaces not only preserves the appearance of castles, but also preserves traditional craftsmanship for generations to come.
